To everyone who’s been trying Multiloop, sharing it with their group, and sending us ideas: thank you. We’ve been quiet on the news feed while working on this update, and there’s a lot to show you.

More people are finding their way here, too. Clicks from Google Search grew 341% across our latest three-month comparison. Whether you’ve been here a while or you’re just joining us, welcome.

The new Campaign Maps, an Inventory built around item cards, and a private Notebook are all live now. Your feedback helps us decide what to work on next.

The short version

  • Maps: connect places and interior maps, open Location details, and edit without leaving the map.
  • Inventory: make item cards, track charges and quantities, and keep the party’s finds organised.
  • Notebook: capture private notes and to-dos with a way back to the relevant part of your campaign.
  • Light and Dark: choose your theme, with a campaign background for each.
  • Story Arcs: read the story alongside its cast, places and quests, and choose what to share with players.
  • Across the app: clearer Handouts, fullscreen workspaces, smoother editing and a batch of everyday fixes.

We’ll dive further into Maps, Inventory and Notebook over the coming weeks. We didn’t want to send you several posts at once, so this one covers the highlights. You can jump in and use everything below today.

The new Campaign Maps

Select a place, see what’s there, and explore its linked map. Campaign Maps now keeps the artwork, Locations and the details you need together.

Place a Location on an uploaded map, give it a recognisable icon and colour, and connect a more detailed map when you have one. A city can lead to a district, a house, or an interior. You can go back to the parent map when you’re ready to leave.

The map in this preview comes from the Inkarnate community. Inkarnate and other mapmaking tools give you a place to build your worlds, towns and interiors. Bring the finished artwork into Multiloop, add your Locations, and keep the map alongside the characters, notes and stories you use to run your campaign.

Open Location details or edit them without leaving the map. It’s the same Location you use elsewhere in the campaign, including its description and private DM preparation. The pop-up also shows Places within, while Explore map takes you to the linked artwork.

Choose which pins, names and hidden-pin badges you see. Your display choices follow your account between devices. Player preview lets you check the player-facing view; revealing a Map or Place remains a separate decision.

Do you use Foundry VTT or another virtual tabletop alongside Multiloop? If easier map transfers would save you work, tell us which tool you use and what you’d want to bring across. Automatic connections would be a future addition; your interest will help us decide what to explore.

Introducing Campaign Inventory

A sword someone won’t part with. A relic with two charges left. The last few potions in the party’s bag. Inventory gives each of them a card you can write on directly.

Choose an item type, add its name and details on the card, and pick its appearance as you go. Expand editor gives longer writing more room. Attributes, charge trackers, quantities and holders let you record what matters to your game.

Track quantities and holders where they matter. Keep private preparation in DM notes. Unidentified items can stay face-down for players until you’re ready to reveal what they are.

Identifying an item and choosing who can access it are separate controls. Write the rules your table uses, then update the trackers as you play.

Introducing Campaign Notebook

Sometimes you have the idea, but not the time to finish it. “Flesh out the Argyle clan.” “Name the inn before Friday.” “Give the blacksmith a secret.” Notebook is for those moments.

Use the notebook button in the campaign header to capture a thought without leaving the page. Keep it as a note or a to-do, and attach a reference so you can get back to the relevant part of your campaign.

When you return, search your entries, work through your to-dos, or look in Done for the things you’ve finished. Archive entries when you no longer need them in your working list. Notebook is private working space, so your unfinished thoughts don’t become player-facing lore.

Light or Dark, your choice

You can now choose Light or Dark mode in your account menu. Your choice is saved to your account, so it follows you when you sign in on another device. There’s a quiet switch in the public site’s footer too, with a separate preference remembered by that browser. Dark is still the default.

Campaign backgrounds can have a different image for each theme, too. Keep a darker scene for Dark mode, choose something brighter for Light, use one image for both, or leave either theme without an image. Your campaign cover stays separate, and each member sees the background for their own theme.

Story Arcs, together in one place

Story Arcs now puts the story beside its cast, places, quests and encounters. Read what you’ve prepared, then choose Edit on the section you want to work on. Keep an arc to yourself, or share it with your players and choose which story sections they can read.

Also in this update

  • Handouts: clearer library and editing controls for player access, with DM preparation kept separate from the prop players read.
  • Maps and Canvas: matching compact zoom, Fit and fullscreen controls, giving you a larger workspace when you want it.
  • Editing: existing Location edits autosave, and editors close promptly while pending saves finish.
  • Reading and forms: cleaner rich text on campaign share pages, grouped form sections and recognisable private notes.
  • Everyday fixes: clearer empty states, improved mobile layouts, better missing-image fallbacks and linked character updates.

We’ll share occasional fixes and improvements posts when there’s a useful batch to cover. They’ll be straightforward lists of what changed, alongside the larger feature walkthroughs.

What should we work on next?

We’ve got plenty we want to build. What would make the biggest difference to your campaign? Tell us what takes too many steps, what you keep outside Multiloop, or what you wish you could do here. Share your feedback; ideas are as welcome as bug reports. Sign in to send it and keep track of our replies.

Would you use a public roadmap and feedback board to see what’s being worked on and add your own suggestions? Let us know. If there’s interest, we’ll look at opening one up.

We’re extending the Founder program

With the growth we’ve seen, we’ve decided to extend the Founder program until at least the end of 2026. New accounts will continue to receive Founder rank. It’s entirely free, just for signing up.

Founder rank recognises people who joined Multiloop early and stays with their account for life. As we grow, we want Founders to be among the first invited to try new things, with other perks along the way. We’ll share the details as those take shape.

You don’t need a campaign or a character ready today. Create your free account and you’ll be here when you’re ready to start. Already using Multiloop? Open your campaigns and try the update. The walkthroughs will follow over the coming weeks.
